When relocating, you often don't have the luxury of looking at every conceivable area listing. At best, you might have the time to visit 20 to 25, so narrow down that list first thing with this advice:

Before leaving town, put your needs into one list. Then put your wants in another. If a property comes up short on your must-haves, there's no need to even spend time looking at it.
Have an established price range. This could be based on loan pre-approval or a conservative estimate of what you'll net from selling your present home.
Think about drive time to your job or other activities. Traffic in the Alpine, Fort Davis and Big Bend area could be different than what you're accustomed to, so tell me how long a commute you're willing to undertake.
